Delivery and Duration

  • The OnlineMBA is delivered using an online learning environment and a variety of teaching resources including peer group activities in teams and self-study (minimum completion time based on a full-time basis is 18 months, 3 semesters).
  • You can choose to complete your studies at a relaxed pace to suit your personal and professional commitments taking up to a maximum of three years.
  • Program content is delivered by experienced in-house faculty through the University’s e-learning platform. The OnlineMBA is totally paperless reflecting today’s business global environment

The Program requires the completion of 90 ECTS -European Credit Transfer System – units. Out of these, 45 ECTS are allocated to nine core modules, 15 ECTS are allocated to three electives or one specialization and the remaining 30 ECTS are allocated to the Thesis Modules . Each module is delivered by 3-hour lectures per week.

Core modules:
The Core MBA curriculum consists of nine courses aiming to cover the essential business disciplines and improve your analytical thinking and decision-making skills to enhance your professional career. The core courses will deal with many challenges facing business managers across different industry sectors.

MBA electives: The MBA elective portfolio offered by the School consists of 9 courses covering various subject areas. The electives will allow you to specialize in areas of specific interest or professional development or to explore new possible avenues. They will be delivered mainly by our experienced faculty but they also include guest lecturers from business or consulting firms who will share with you real-world experience.

The list of electives courses is always updated and subject to change. You will have to choose any three of the available electives to fit your own specific needs and interests.

MBA Specializations: The MBA offers you the opportunity to select one of the following two Specializations which best serves your career development, namely, the ‘Innovation & Entrepreneurship’ specialization and the “Strategic Marketing” Specialization. The specialization is achieved by completing a Final MBA Project on a relevant thematic topic and opting for a specific combination of three electives from the MBA elective portfolio.

Thesis Modules .These include the Final MBA Project and a Research Methods course on the research methodology that can be a employed to carry out the project. The final project offers you a valuable opportunity to put into practice the theory you learnt and knowledge you acquired on the MBA. Working on a real-life business problem, the project consolidates your experience, enables you to develop specialized expertise and exposes you to career enhancing opportunities. The final project can be sponsored either by your current employer or other companies from various industries or government environment. This will give you a great opportunity to approach potential employers or organizations that are of particular interest to you. Examples include companies in sectors, such as, manufacturing, economics and finance, transportation and storage, retail and wholesale, consulting, distribution and logistics, scientific and technical activities.

Tuition fees at Frederick University are calculated according to the ECTS load a student undertakes each semester. Due to the recent economic challenges faced in several countries in the region and beyond, the university decided to apply reductions in the program fees so as to support the student population. To this end, the tuition fees in effect for students registering in the academic year 2015-16 are 60.00 euro per ECTS credit. This means that the tuition fees cost for the overall program is 5.730 euro.

In addition to tuition fees, additional fees apply in order to support the administrative, library and technological infrastructure costs. All costs are summarized in the following table:

  • English Language requirement: If you are studying or have completed your entire degree in a non- English speaking university, you must demonstrate satisfactory knowledge of English language (suitable qualifications may include TOEFL, IELTS, GCSE, IGCSE, Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English or equivalent).
  • A two year’s work experience or a good GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test) score would be considered an advantage.

Admission Deadlines

  • There are two intakes per year: September and January
  • Early application for a place is advisable

Recognition of Prior Learning

There are no specific arrangements for recognition of prior learning for this Program. Candidates can be granted transfer credits according to the general arrangements for recognition of prior learning of the University.

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading

There are no specific examination regulations, assessment and grading methods employed by this Program. The examination regulations, assessment methods and grading system for this Program are the same as the relevant general university regulations.

Graduation Requirements

Students are eligible for graduation after successfully completing 90 ECTS credits in the courses listed in the Program Structure.

Furthermore, a student can graduate only if their CGPA is greater or equal to 5.00 out of 10.00. Graduating students with a CGPA less than 5.00 might have to take extra courses or repeat a number of courses in order to improve their grades.

Access to Further Studies

The graduates of the program will be able to proceed to further professional or academic qualifications, such as, have access to PhD studies (3rd Cycle) in disciplines related to those offered by the School of Economic Sciences and Administration.
